In 2002 Microcast Technologies took part in the International Die Casting Competition. Here is an excerpt from the NADCA Die Casting Awards Article.

"Microcast Technologies, of Linden N.J., won the category Zinc Under 6 Ounces/non-electroplated for its 0.19oz connector housing, used for a fiber optic transceiver. Project leaders Al Clack, Edward Wasowski (Microcast Technologies), Rich Ruh and Andres Honegger (Agilent Technologies) worked together to produce a one-piece connector cast in zinc, that would require few or no additional components or machine operations, yet meet all of the very stringent dimensional and structure criteria that was required. The part was previously produced from sheet metal fabricated parts, which lacked precision for speedy assembly of components. (See connector)"
